DESCRIPTION

Tom is an english inexperienced backpacker travelling with his three friends. He has been travelling for two weeks already and has visited France, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. He’s now in Stockholm and after that he’s going to take a boat to Poland.

Thomas is from Manchester, and he likes to watch football. He have played in a minor football team. He’s also very fond of drinking beer and experience different beer cultures, and he wants to test different beer sorts while traveling Europe. Tom has a dream of opening his own brewery one day, just like his grandfather did in the 1960s.

After his A levels, he started working in Tesco for 2 years. He's been longing to do a backpack trip through Europe for over a year but he didn't want to travel alone. 6 months ago he found out that three of his friends also wanted to do a eurotrip, so they started to make a plan together.

He’s currently thinking about his next step in his life, and he thinks that the trip could be a good way to relax and have time to think about what to do.

GOALS

Current goal: Making the best out of this trip and having fun with his friends

Long-term goal: Gather knowledge, money and contacts to start working in the brewing industry

Scenario 1

Scenario: They're tired and thirsty after traveling.

Goal: Finding a pub near the hostel.

Thomas and his friend just arrived in Stockholm this morning. They dropped their bags at the hostel and are now looking for a pub, where they can chill and discuss plan for the rest of the day. They go to desk and Steve, one of Thomas’ friends,  asks to the receptionist for some nice pubs nearby. He points 3 places on Thomas’ map and describes quickly the pubs. After a few minutes of discussion, Thomas and his friends choose one of the pubs. It’s a 10 minutes walk so they just start heading there, bringing the maps and some guides and notes they got at the tourist information center in the train station. They reach the place a few minutes later. Thomas orders a beer he never heard about before, and is happy that everything went smoothly.

Scenario 2

Scenario: Finding how to move around in town.

Goal: Buy a travel pass and learn how to use the public transportation.

Tom and his friends are tired of walking and want to explore the city in an easier way. They don’t know how the public transport system works so they need to figure that out. First they ask the receptionist who tells them about SL and discribes where the nearest subway is. They walk to the subway and into the nearest SL shop where they get information about the system and buy a transportation card. When using the card for the first time they observe the local people and do as they does. When on the other side of the subway gates, they look at the subway map to find “Gamla stan” and take what they think is the right subway.
